The weather is warming up and the Tin Roof Gallery is kicking off the beautiful weather with a very Magical Fae May Exhibition.
Love fairy tales? Want a reason to dress like magical royalty? Maybe personify your favorite fantasy creatures? Or even just break the mold of everyday living?
Well, the Magical Fae May Exhibition is just the cure! During this month we have featured illustrator/photographer/model Allision Olivia Moon presenting her artwork. Allison is best known for her photography and illustrations in which she taps into the magical side of nature and everyday life. Her work invites you to view the world's beauty through her eyes.
To kick off our Magical Fae May Exhibition we invite you to join us in celebrating Black Fae Day!
What is Black Fae Day? Black Fae Day is a holiday created by Jasmine La Fleur, with the support of her partner Carlos Williams Jr. which began in 2021 and is celebrated every year on the second Saturday of May. During this magical day, Black people dress as magical creatures (ie: fairies, elves, orcs, pixies, dwarves, etc). The day is meant to shine a light on the lack of representation in fantasy media and is the perfect way to celebrate the upcoming warm weather.
We encourage guests to join us in the spirit of Black Fae Day to dress as fantastically magical as they want. The Tin Roof Gallery has turned our entire space into a fantasy getaway with two beautiful photoshoot sets for guests to take magical photos in; a magical reading nook and a mystical forest.
There will also be live music, delicious food and treats as well as vendors for all of your natural self-care needs. The creative vibes will be nothing short of amazing!
