Shonica St. John

Traditional Artist

Mediums: Watercolor paint, acrylic paint, copic markers and color pencils

"My current series of vase people. It is a depiction of fragility and strength and how it connects one with nature. It represents growth and also represents the pain of growth.

I think what inspired the pieces was emotional distress and the need to find release from the distress. The absence of the head is a representation of not thinking or worrying just growing. Hence, in its place is nature. Something that can bring peace, tranquility and escape.  Of course the peace must be earned, nurtured and valued. It's hard for me to describe my art style. I feel like I'm still trying to figure that out myself."
